Alumni of Russell Sage College are not required to submit their Russell Sage transcripts.

Please note: To be considered an official transcript, the transcript must be sent directly from your institution(s) or through an electronic transcript vendor retained by that institution. Transcripts submitted by enrolled or prospective learners are considered unofficial documents, even if they are in a sealed envelope provided to you by the issuing university.

*International transcripts are not required, although NACES and AICES evaluations of international post-secondary education are.

  • Submit two letters of recommendation from any academic or professional references. Choose recommenders who can explain how your experience and qualifications have prepared you for academic and professional success. You will submit contact information for your recommenders in the online application.

  • Submit a 500–1,000-word essay describing how your personal strengths and experiences will contribute to your success in this program and to your success as an occupational therapist. Include any community service, leadership experience, educational experience, or health care experience.

  • Submit documentation that proves you have completed 20 hours of clinical observation under the supervision of an occupational therapist.

  • International applicants must submit official TOEFL scores (reported directly from ETS.org) or IELTS scores (reported directly from IELTS.org). While self-reported scores are useful for informal evaluation, the official report of your scores must arrive before final application review.

This requirement is waived if your native language is English, or you received the equivalent of a four-year US undergraduate degree in which the main language of instruction was English.

The required minimum total score for each exam is:

    TOEFL scores (minimum): 85+

    IELTS scores (minimum): 6.5+

Standardized test scores are reportable for a period of two years from the date of the exam. TOEFL or IELTS exam results more than two years old will not be considered.

  • You must pay a $30 fee to submit your application. If you submit your application by an early or a priority deadline, you will receive an application fee waiver.
